NPH USA Youth Ambassador Program

The NPH USA Youth Ambassador program exists to engage young people in the mission of NPH USA and is vital to the continued success of the organization. Youth Ambassadors are passionate NPH supporters who help promote the NPH mission, raise funds and awareness for children in need, and connect more people with children in our NPH homes. The Youth Ambassador Program unifies young people who are passionate about combating global poverty and helping children. “I am a Youth Ambassador and tell anyone and everyone about NPH. I do it in hopes to give back at least a little to the enormous gift NPH gave me.” – Angel Deschamps, Youth Ambassador Membership NPH USA Youth Ambassadors are passionate about service and helping those in need. They come from various different high schools and all work together towards the same goals – making a difference in a child’s life. The goals of youth ambassadors are: Motivate and inspire others to spread the NPH mission. Help to promote sponsorship by securing new sponsorships. Become a child sponsor yourself for a child in one of our NPH homes. Facilitate and support fundraising events through school, church, friends, etc. Promote NPH USA trips to friends. Check in with Youth Ambassador Coordinator to share ideas, progress and feedback.

Our names are Maddie and Rose and we have been going to the NPH Dominican Republic home since middle school. This spring we went for our third time. We keep coming back because of the incredible friendships we have made with the kids. Each time we return, we are taken aback by the love, warmth, and hospitality we receive from everyone at the home. The response from the service we do in the batey villages and inside the home are so rewarding because we truly see the happiness and gratitude it creates. What impacts us the most are the individuals we meet inside the home. They radiate endless positive energy and are always eager to make friends. Whether you are playing soccer, drawing, dancing, singing, or getting your hair braided, you go home at night never wanting to leave the park. After our first visit, we both started sponsoring a child. Each time we go back, their excitement to see us makes us feel like we never left. We have created such strong bonds with these kids because of the sponsorship program. It allows us to write cards and send presents on special occasions. During our spring visit, all the older girls were wearing the rings and clothes I had given my goddaughter. It is so enlightening to see how such little gestures can make them so happy. Their smiles are truly infectious. NPH has taught us to take moments to appreciate all that we have in our lives. We feel so grateful to have had these experiences and bonds and cannot wait to return in the future.
