Founded in 1954 by Father William Wasson, Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH)—Spanish for “Our Little Brothers and Sisters,” and known in French as Nos Petits Frères et Sœurs— began with one child in Mexico and grew into a global family serving children and families across nine countries. What started as a promise to care for one child has become a lifelong model of support that helps children heal, families strengthen, young people grow, and communities thrive.
For more than 70 years, NPH has provided safe homes, access to education, health care, and family support services that help children grow into healthy, confident adults. With NPH USA supporters, this work creates lasting community impact that reaches far beyond any single moment of help.
At NPH, our work is grounded in three connected pillars that together form a lifelong system of care for children and families across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Through residential programs, we provide children at risk with safe, loving homes where they receive education, health care, and emotional support.
Through community programs, we strengthen families with access to local resources, education, and family support services so children can thrive within their own communities.
And through St. Damien Pediatric Hospital in Haiti, we deliver life-saving pediatric and high-risk maternal care in communities where poverty poses barriers to accessing health care. Together, these pillars help children and families heal, grow, and thrive over time.
