Children at NPH are known as pequeños (Spanish for “little ones”), and our pequeños call their sponsors either padrino or madrina (Spanish for Godfather and Godmother). These endearing terms mean that you are an immediate and life-long member of our extensive NPH global family.

Whether your Godchild lives with their NPH family or with their biological family in the community, you are helping to provide him or her with all they need to break the cycle of poverty: an education, clothing, food, healthcare, skills, values, and love.
Being a Godparent to an NPH child takes relatively little time but produces a bounty of blessings. Beyond your monthly sponsorship donation, you will be able to connect with your Godchild personally through correspondence and even visits. Sponsorship provides critical material and emotional assistance to help vulnerable children build a strong foundation of security, trust, and self-esteem.
In addition to correspondence between you and your Godchild, you will also receive at least two updates per year, including introductory communication and a Christmas card with a recent photo of your Godchild.
