Why Volunteers Matter

Whether locally or internationally, the hands-on efforts of volunteers are at the heart of our programs. Volunteers directly support the work of NPH USA and Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH) in a wide range of roles, from fundraising and health care to office support and social work. Their contributions play an essential role in helping children in need. 

Use Your Skills Locally

Local volunteers play a key role in helping NPH USA raise awareness and support children year-round. Here are a few ways you can get involved in your community: 

  • Serve on a local board or committee 
  • Help translate letters between sponsors and children 
  • Support or host local fundraising events 
  • Assist with office and administrative projects 

Volunteer Internationally 

International volunteers commit to living and working at NPH homes across Latin America and the Caribbean, supporting children through daily care, education, and community life. 

  • Directly serve children in need 
  • Live within a community of international volunteers 
  • Build meaningful relationships with children and staff 
  • Develop language and cross-cultural skills
