Come meet Alexis Beltran from NPH Guatemala during his visit to the Midwest this spring!
Alexis came to NPH at the age of two because his mother could not take care of him due to the poverty she lived in. Alexis suffered from malnutrition and other illnesses for which his mother could not afford medicine. Thanks to NPH, Alexis was able to grow healthy and strong. He studied in high school to be a physical education teacher and went on to college to become an English teacher. He is also a graduate of the NPH Seattle Leadership program. Alexis says “NPH has taught me to be resilient in many aspects of life. I always want to give back and teach my younger siblings what unconditional love is and the values that NPH has as a Family. I like to think and use this phrase from Father Wasson: You can be just one person to the world, but you can be the whole world to a child.”
Alexis is now 28 years old and the father to a 3-year-old little girl. He currently works as a driver at NPH Guatemala.
