Alexis NPH at the age of 2 years old because his mother could not take care of him due to the poverty she lived in. Alexis suffered from malnutrition and other illnesses for which his mother could not afford medicine. Thanks to NPH, Alexis was able to overcome malnutrition and grow healthy and strong. He studied high school to be a physical education teacher and college to be an English teacher. He is also a graduate of the NPH Seattle Leadership program. Alexis says “NPH has taught me to be resilient in many aspects of life. I always want to give back and teach my younger siblings what unconditional love is and the values that NPH has as a Family. I like to think and use this phrase from Father Wasson: You can be just one person to the world, but you can be the whole world to a child.”
