Meeting Oprah!
NPH Honduras National Director Stefan Feuerstein has been named to the inaugural OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network “SuperSoul 100” list celebrating individuals using their power to move the world forward.
August 4, 2016
OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today the “SuperSoul 100,” a dynamic group of 100 trailblazers whose vision and life’s work are bringing a higher level of consciousness to the world around them and encouraging others to do the same.
Inspired by OWN’s Emmy-winning series “SuperSoul Sunday,” the “SuperSoul 100” list recognizes remarkable individuals in five categories: Soul Creatives, Soul Entrepreneurs, Soul Givers, Soul Igniters, and Soul Teachers.
“Each one of these individuals is uniquely connecting the world together with a spiritual energy that matters,” said Oprah Winfrey, OWN CEO. “These inspired leaders are using their gifts and voices to help elevate humanity.”
This SuperSoul 100 list brings together members that span all ages, ethnic groups, industries, and faiths. These influencers are inspiring others to live out an authentic life and use their platforms to help contribute to society and inspire others. The complete inaugural list, including a special photo with Ms. Winfrey, will be unveiled in the September Issue of O, The Oprah Magazine on newsstands August 10, 2016.
In April, Stefan had the chance to meet Oprah and his fellow SuperSoul 100s and he will be featured later this year on a SuperSoul Sunday episode. “It was a great opportunity to meet Oprah and I look forward to sharing my love for the NPH Family with all her viewers in the future,” explained Stefan.
Stefan’s first introduction to NPH was as a volunteer in 2003-2004 working as an assistant to Reinhart Koehler, the National Director at that time. Stefan then worked in Lima, Peru, in a microfinance rating firm, and later, realizing how much he missed working with kids, left his office job and worked at a home for kids from the streets of Lima. Stefan then earned his Masters in Development Administration and Planning with a specific emphasis on development and children, at the University College of London.
“Sharing my days and years with my children at NPH,” Stefan says, “I get to see every day how scared children who have been through terrible abuse and suffering learn to play again, to trust again and to love again. They have taught me that no matter how challenging things may be, or how much suffering there may be in the world, all of us can always be the most important factor for profound change in someone’s life. It is always worth trying to make the world better—one life, one soul at a time.”
