About
We warmly invite you to join NPH and friends for an afternoon of appetizers, cocktails, and meaningful conversation with a special guest speaker from NPH Haiti. We look forward to sharing this special time with you!
Hosted by Beth and Rob Healy
We would be delighted to have you join us for a special complimentary event to learn about the more than 9,000 children and families we serve across Latin America and the Caribbean. This gathering will offer an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by giving a gift or sponsoring a child. Your support can help children reach their full potential, become compassionate leaders in their communities, and break the cycle of intergenerational poverty—creating brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Guest Speaker: Jean Marseille, Hermano Mayor (“Older Brother”), NPH Haiti

Jean Marseille is from a rural Northern part of Haiti outside of Jeremie. As a young boy, his family moved to the slums of Cité Soleil in the Port Au Prince area, in search of economic opportunities. His mother passed away when he was still a child, his father could not care for him and his siblings, and this left him homeless to fend for himself. The stress of going from neighbor to neighbor, searching for food and shelter, caused him to develop chronic ulcers.
He was living in dire circumstances when he was rescued by Fr. Richard Frechette who brought him to live at the NPH home. It was there he found happiness, good health, clothing, food, family, and more importantly the support for education to continue developing. Education provided him with the pathways and access to a positive future.
While at NPH, he continued to study and work hard and was eventually chosen to go to Yarnell, Arizona to continue his studies. This is where his life changed, and he got to know Fr. William Wasson. While in Arizona, he took the GED, earned a scholarship to attend Yavapai College, and completed his Associates Degree in Nursing. He returned to Haiti for his two years of service caring for babies with HIV, children with malnutrition, and individuals with TB. Later, he was able to return to the U.S. for a year of Optional Practical Training where he worked as a nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at a Trauma Level 1 hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.
Jean went on to complete his bachelor’s degree in nursing and earned his master’s degree as well. Currently, he is a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Cardiology at Banner Medical University Hospital. He lives in North Central Phoenix, on a small urban farm, with his wife, son, and daughter.
Free to attend. RSVP required by March 17.
