Regional Director’s Message

A Moment of Gratitude

“When a child gives you a gift, even if it is a rock they just picked up, exude gratitude. It may be the only thing they have to give, and they have chosen to give it to you.”  – Dean Jackson

During the upcoming months NPH homes will experience many visitors. This inspirational quote by Dean Jackson is a simple reminder to all of us to appreciate the simple opportunities to find ways to exude gratitude. Yesterday, I was in a meeting with a benefactor seeking her advice and she had shared it would be helpful to receive a nudge to encourage Godparents to take a moment to write to your Godchild.  You are strongly encourage you to write to your Godchild – the children eagerly await letters and e-mails from their Godparents. This contact helps create a special, loving relationship between the two of you. And what greater reward is there than bringing a smile to a child’s face? Every time you write to your Godchild, he or she will write back to you! Click here for tips and more information.

Send letters online! You may view your godchild’s current photo, read their biography, and send a letter through our E-Correspondence Program! E-mail us to make sure that we have your current email address, then enroll here.

“The relationship between the children and their Godparents is much more than just a financial one. The children love to learn about their sponsors’ lives and vice-versa. The kids really depend on this connection.”  – Lena Zuniga, Sponsorship Coordinator, NPH Honduras

To each and every one of you in the Upper Midwest Region thank you for your dedication, your generosity and your impact in ‘Keeping Dreams Alive’ in the lives of the NPH children.
