World Health Day is an annual WHO platform which seeks to draw worldwide attention to key issues of importance when it comes to global health. This is a prime opportunity to spotlight the tremendous need and impact of SDPH, as it is the only comprehensive pediatric and high-risk maternity health care facility in all of Haiti. Expert, dedicated medical staff provide high-quality, dignified, and lifesaving health care for thousands of children and expectant mothers.

In Tabarre, on the outskirts of Port-au-Prince, stands Haiti’s premier pediatric and high-risk maternity hospital, NPH’s St. Damien, a 75,000 square foot, 224-bed facility with an emergency room, surgery, infectious and non-infectious disease wards, a dental clinic, outpatient clinic, public health, maternity, neonatology, oncology, and HIV program. St. Damien provides long-term care to critically ill children and high-risk expectant mothers who would have nowhere else to go. The hospital employs over 500 Haitians and provides more than 53,000 services to women and children annually. St. Damien is the only hospital in Haiti that provides specialized pediatric oncology care.
