San Antonio Medical Party 2021

Dr. Edwin Vallecillo, NPH International Director of Medical Services
As a former pequeño himself, Edwin came to NPH Honduras in January 1994 with his seven brothers and sisters. Growing up in the home, he remembers working very hard. In 2006, Edwin attended the Latin American School of Medicine in Havana, Cuba, on a full scholarship where he spent the next seven years pursuing his medical studies. He is currently studying a master’s degree in Healthcare Management in Central American Technological University in Tegucigalpa. Working with the Honduran public health system and ultimately, the medical team of the NPH Honduras internal clinic, Edwin, “has the opportunity to improve things even more, not only within NPH, but outside of it, in the communities. I’m conscious of the challenges the average Honduran faces and of health on a global scale.”

NPH USA transforms the lives of vulnerable children in Latin America and the Caribbean by supporting the homes, health services and educational programs of Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH, Spanish for “Our Little Brothers and Sisters”). Together, we empower children to grow to their full potential, shaping better futures for themselves, their families and their communities.

Founded in 1954 by Father William B. Wasson, NPH is currently supporting more than 7,600 boys and girls in Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru. In addition, our community outreach programs provided over 81,000 services in 2020.
