Regional Director’s Message
I am humbled and honored to step into the role of Regional Director of our Northwest office. Our Regional Board, our Associate Board, our volunteers, staff, and community of sponsors and supporters here are truly amazing. This Northwest chapter of the NPH family continues to inspire me with their generosity and collective resolve to make a difference in the lives of the children and families we serve. The incredible impact of our NW community was on full display just a couple of weeks ago at our NW Gala, where together we raised more than $400,000 to support our NPH University Students, helping to secure the future promise they each carry as they break the cycle of poverty they were born into and change the world around them for the better. NPH has been my life and my family for a long time. NPH has led me on many journeys over the years and I couldn’t be more grateful. Over the last 12 years, I have worked on the operational side of NPH as it led me from Nicaragua as a volunteer to Mexico working with NPH International, to the Dominican Republic securing birth certificates for our children and to Haiti after the devastating earthquake. Most recently it led me to Honduras where I served as Co-National Director, helping to run our home and programs there from 2010-2016. NPH also led me to my brilliant wife Erin, a fact for which I am eternally grateful. And ultimately NPH led be back home to the Northwest. I feel so privileged now to continue this work day in and day out here in this region with those who make all the good work of NPH possible. I know firsthand the lengths NPH goes to stretch a dollar and the commitment of our teams on the ground to live up to the spirit of Fr. Wasson, that started it all. That spirit that urges us to be the best possible response to the needs of every child and family found broken by the weight of loss, poverty and unexpected tragedy. Every gift of time, talent and support we receive from all of you here allows our NPH family to respond to children with the sacred commitment only a family can, and provide the security that breeds opportunity, and the love that lends to healing and hope.I am especially grateful to our outgoing Regional Director, Katie Hultquist, who helped lead the NW team for the last 8 years, providing continual growth of support for the children of NPH. She is an inspiration, a phenomenal leader and a great friend. We wish her the very best in her new endeavors to be sure. But we also must remind her, that she can never really leave the NPH family. The children and lives she has helped have become a part of her as she has become a part of them. She has been a friend, guide and inspiration to many, and will always be an honored member of our Northwest, and greater NPH family.
I look forward to working with all of you here in the Northwest to continue the phenomenal tradition of support for the children and work of NPH. Thank you all for being such an integral part of our NPH family, and please join me in thanking Katie for her years of dedication to our region and to children in need.
With gratitude,
Ross Egge
