Regional Director’s Message
As we approach the season of giving, and more importantly, giving thanks, I want to personally take this opportunity to thank the entire Northwest Community for their incredible support of the children, families and programs of NPH throughout the year. I have had the opportunity to travel with you, grab coffee, drinks, lunch or dinner with you. We have worked on projects here in the office together. The overwhelming generosity of time, treasure and talent in order to give children and families a better future inspires me daily. Thank you!
Our 30th Anniversary Circle of Friends Gala on November 10th was a beautiful celebration and a wonderful success, not only because we collectively raised more than $600,000 for life changing NPH programs!!! But because our community was able to celebrate together what it means to be part of this incredible global NPH family. A special thank you to our Board, to all of our sponsors and volunteers, to everyone to was able to join us, and those who were not but were there in spirit. We honor all of those who came before us, who laid the foundation for this community of support over the last 30 years. As 2018 comes to a close and we look to what might be possible in the next 30 years, I remain inspired, encouraged, and ever grateful to be a part of such and amazing community here. On behalf of all the children and the entire NPH family. Thank you!
A few things to mention coming up. We will be travelling to NPH Dominican Republic and Honduras next year, so please do let us know if you are interested in joining us. We also have an exciting new giving platform that we will be using for a special purpose on December 12th. Please note, that on this day, we are not asking you to give more. Your commitment and generosity as part of our NW family is already making its impact. This platform is set up, to allow you to share with other friends from anywhere (via Social Media, email or text) why you care about NPH in very specific ways (highlighting healthcare, sponsorship, or a particular NPH country, whatever your reasons) and invite them to make a small contribution to that particular area of our work. Being our 30th Anniversary, if new friends contribute just $30 dollars each we can compound the impact of what we are able to provide for the NPH family. We will share more on this soon (the platform makes it quite simple) for those who would like to participate and share your inspiration for the work of NPH.
It was a true joy to begin this fall and winter season with a celebration like the one we just had, but as Fr. Rick Frechette reminded us that night, this joy we feel is accompanied by a river of sorrow that too many children and families face, a river of sorrow that is the why behind this important work, and why the approach and commitment of NPH in responding to it is so necessary. Thank you for providing such joy and kindness in response to real need.
In gratitude,
Ross Egge
