Regional Director’s Message

Happy Spring from the Northwest team at NPH USA!

I’m so pleased to share the tremendous success of our Northwest Associate Board, which recently held its fourth annual Carnaval for a Cause in Seattle, welcoming nearly 350 guests to learn about NPH and raising more than $24,000 for our children!  We are so grateful for this incredible group of former international volunteers and other young professionals who care about making a difference.

Later this month, we are excited to welcome Kenson Kaas from NPH Haiti as the keynote speaker for our Faces of Hope lunch in Bellevue (March 22) and cocktail party in Seattle (March 23). Kenson grew up at our home and is the Director of the Father Wasson Angels of Light program, which provides a home and education for hundreds of children who were displaced by the 2010 earthquake. Our Seattle Institute leadership students will be hosting and speaking at these events as well. It should be an inspiring and incredible week!

Meanwhile, mark your calendars now and register to play in our second annual NW Golf Classic at Newcastle Golf Club on May 19th!  Last year our inaugural event took place on a beautiful sunny day and 140 golfers came out to have fun and compete while supporting our kids.  Many local businesses sponsor this event and this year, we expect to raise more than $60,000.  NPH USA National Board member and former football player John Shinsky will be speaking at the tournament, along with one of our Seattle Institute students.  It should be a terrific day!

Finally, I invite you to travel to NPH Nicaragua with me and NPH Family Services Director Donna Egge, July 7-15 – you will meet the children, staff and volunteers at our home there and I promise it will be a transformational experience for all of us.  Join us!

With gratitude,
