May 13, 2025

Alba’s appointment comes after a thorough selection process led by NPH executive management. Her extensive experience, strong values, and deep commitment to the mission of NPH make her well-suited to lead NPH Guatemala into its next chapter.

A Leader Rooted in Service and Dedication
Alba brings over 25 years of experience with Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH). During NPH Guatemala’s establishment in 1996, she had the profound privilege of meeting Father William Wasson, the organization’s founder. His vision and commitment deeply impacted Alba, solidifying her belief that NPH was the place where she could best serve the children of Guatemala.

Her professional training spans family counseling, conflict resolution, child protection, and leadership development. She has also participated in numerous trainings focused on child rights, social development, and fundraising, equipping her with the skills and insight necessary to lead NPH Guatemala as it further evolves from focusing on residential services to offering support to families in the community.

Throughout her career, Alba has held several key positions within NPH Guatemala, including Secretary, Social Work Manager, High School and University Programs Coordinator, Director of Casa San Andrés, and Head of Older Brothers (Hermanos Mayores). Her vast experience across these roles underscores her deep understanding of NPH’s mission and her commitment to the children and families it serves.

Vision for the Future of NPH Guatemala
As National Director, Alba will lead the strategic planning and implementation of NPH Guatemala’s social development programs. She will oversee a multidisciplinary team, build partnerships with local stakeholders, and represent the organization to donors, government institutions, and the wider community.

Alba’s commitment to NPH’s principles is unwavering:
“I firmly believe in the principles and values that define the organization. As National Director, my commitment is to keep the mission and vision of NPH alive, ensure that the rights of children are respected, create safe environments, and support the families we serve. I am convinced that the best place for a child is their family environment.”
