About
Join us for a memorable evening at Rancho Moonrise, a stunning Hill Country retreat just outside of Austin, as we come together to support NPH USA and its mission to care for vulnerable children across Latin America and the Caribbean.
This unique event pairs Texas elegance with purpose, featuring:
- Live music from a well-known Austin band
- Texas-inspired cuisine from a variety of food trucks, including tacos, barbecue, desserts, and coffee
- Craft cocktails and a full bar
- Photo opportunities with a gentle Texas Longhorn and horses, safe and guest-ready
- A cowboy-inspired fashion showcase
- Western-style entertainment, including roping demonstrations
- Special guests and personal stories from the NPH community
- Overnight accommodations at Rancho Moonrise will be available for a limited number of top-level sponsors. If you’re interested in a deeper level of involvement and a more immersive experience, sponsorship opportunities are available.
Guest Speaker: Marlon Velásquez, Hermano Mayor (“Older Brother”)
Marlon Velásquez, affectionately known as “Tio Marlon”, joined the NPH family in Honduras when he was 15 years old, along with his brother Ismar and sister Dorian. Having previously lived on the streets of Tegucigalpa, NPH opened its doors to Marlon where he was given the opportunity to take responsibility of the younger children and youth at Rancho Santa Fe. Over time, his thirst for knowledge and spirituality grew, and he began to study psychology and social work, and took courses to enhance his leadership skills.
He built a close relationship with Fr. Wasson and studied in Arizona, while also embracing the NPH philosophy. He played a large role in the opening of NPH Guatemala, working as the Assistant National Director, before returning to NPH Honduras for a period as House Director. He later served as National Director of NPH Nicaragua and then National Director of NPH Honduras. Marlon currently lives in San Antonio, TX, with his wife and three children.
Whether you’re a long-standing friend of NPH or joining us for the first time, we invite you to enjoy a one-of-a-kind evening under the stars while making a meaningful impact in the lives of children who need it most.
