NPH USA and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church are partnering on August 15 and 16 for this year’s Archdiocese of Chicago Mission Appeal Weekend. Fr. Enzo Del Brocco will speak on behalf of NPH’s St. Damien Pediatric Hospital in Haiti to raise awareness and critical funds for the mothers and children served at the hospital. Funds raised through the second collection and donations made on this page will benefit thousands of vulnerable mothers and children.

Fr. Enzo del Brocco, Brother Daniel Cadet, and Fr. Rick Frechette in Haiti

Fr. Enzo Del Brocco was born in Pittsburgh in 1969. After spending his childhood in the United States, he moved with his family to Italy in 1980. He entered the Passionist Congregation in 1991 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1996.

He holds a Licentiate in Moral Theology, a Master’s degree in Human Resources, a Certification in Catholic Bioethics, and a PhD in Healthcare Ethics from Duquesne University. His doctoral dissertation focused on Integral Ecology and Global Bioethics.

Fr. Enzo has held several leadership positions within the Passionist Congregation in both Italy and the United States. He has extensive international experience, having traveled to more than 50 countries. Fluent in six languages, he is a widely respected preacher who has led retreats and workshops across numerous countries.

During his tenure as Provincial Superior in Italy, Fr. Enzo collaborated with the Community of Sant’Egidio in one of the marginalized areas of Naples, ministering to the poor, persons with disabilities, and underserved communities.

From 2014 to 2020, he served in Haiti, working with marginalized youth in the slum of Cité Soleil, ministering as a hospital chaplain, and conducting pastoral outreach in remote regions affected by Hurricane Matthew in 2016, particularly in the Jérémie area.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he served as a chaplain at St. Vincent de Paul Nursing Home in the Bronx. From 2021 to 2025, he served as Assistant at the Parish of Our Saviour in Manhattan, where he also collaborated with the Community of Sant’Egidio in outreach to people experiencing homelessness.

Fr. Enzo continues to advocate for Haiti and has participated in United Nations meetings on issues affecting vulnerable populations. Since July 2025, he has served as President of Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and Professor of Moral Theology, with a particular focus on Healthcare Ethics, Integral Ecology, and emerging technologies.

He is also a guest contributor to National Catholic Reporter and U.S. Catholic.
